Welcome
The Seychelles are a series of islands and atolls located in the Indian Ocean, off the south eastern coast of Africa. Located roughly 8000 Km's from Europe, the Seychelles archipelago consists of 115 islands scattered over an area of 400, 000 square km. This country has more natural and marine parks than anywhere else in the world. Long considered one of the most pristine environments on the planet, it is only recently that the Seychelles has garnered attention as a saltwater fishing Mecca for those with the gumption and resources to make the trip. For anglers, this destination represents the pinnacle of destination saltwater fly fishing trips.

There are two categories of islands within the Seychelles: the granite "inner" that cluster around the principal islands of Mahe, Praslin and La Digue, whose spectacular peaks climb skyward from virgin forests and immaculate beaches, and the "outer": a stunning array of flat, coralline islands extending westward towards the coast of Africa that includes the legendary Aldabra group of atolls. The Aldabra group consists of Assumption, Astove, Aldabra and Cosmoledo. These atolls are approximately 800 miles southwest of Mahe. Our main focus at Seychelles Fly Fishing Expeditions is the extremely remote and stunningly beautiful Cosmoledo Atoll.

Without question, the Cosmoledo Atoll offers up the finest mixed bag saltwater angling experience available. The atoll is about as far off the beaten path as a destination can be and none of the 12 islands at Cosmoledo are populate by anything other than birds and turtles. Due to its isolation and the fact that there is nowhere to stay at Cosmoledo, the only way the atoll can be fished is from a live aboard ship operation. Because of its unique bio-diversity, the Government of the Seychelles tightly regulates access to Cosmoledo and only two ships are licensed to enter the atoll with anglers or divers. This sound management policy has ensured that there is virtually no fishing pressure in the atoll and all but guarantees that the fishery will remain exceptional for the foreseeable future.

At Seychelles Fly Fishing Expeditions, our number one goal is to give guests the best fishing trip of their lives. Our passion for the Seychelles and specifically the Cosmoledo Atoll, has led us to return with guests each spring and fall, since 2004. Our repeated bi-annual visits have led to an increased understanding of the fishery at Cosmoledo and the subsequent development of techniques that put our guests into the best fishing situations imaginable.

The fishing at Cosmoledo is nothing short of extraordinary and the options for anglers in terms of what to fish for and when to fish are highly flexible. This is one of the few places on earth where an angler can land six to 10 pound bonefish in the morning and then cast to sailfish in the afternoon. Spending a week living on and fishing from a ship is not for everyone. However, there is plenty of room throughout the ship and while the sleep cabins are not large, there is sufficient space for 2 anglers to comfortably live for 7 days. The angling days at Cosmoledo are long, the company excellent and the fishing is exceptional.

What more could the intrepid angler Hope for?
